The new Padua Botanical Gardens

Unesco heritage, founded before the birth of Galilei, the Padua botanical garden is reborn in a contemporary garb: a green jewel of VG Associati made of respect for plants, the past and the future of man. Here’s how and why it was expanded At the 2005 competition, many attended the competitio to design the enlargement of the Padua botanical garden (belongs to the University and is the oldest in the world, founded in 1545): among others, David Chipperfield, Mario Bellini, Dominique Perrault. In the end, however, the passion for biodiversity won over the high-sounding name. The vegetable garden we will see (starting this summer, when it will officially open to the public) was in fact designed by the studio VG Associati, directed by Giorgio Strapazzon. Not an archistar nor a botanist but a man whose passion for nature is authentic and informed.
